Tennessee trucking accidents over cause severe injuries

Collisions between commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers or semis and smaller vehicles are almost always serious, often resulting in serious injuries and/or loss of life. This is due mainly to the drastic size difference between the different types of vehicles. Sometimes, though, that same size difference still applies -- albeit on a lesser scale -- in trucking accidents between, for instance, a car and a pickup truck.

One crash in Tennessee recently left a young boy fighting for his life. The 5-year-old was riding in the back of his mother's car, along with his 7-year-old sister. According to a preliminary crash, his mother had stopped to attempt a left-hand turn.

However, a pickup truck following behind the car failed to stop. It smashed into the back of the car, which was then propelled into a ditch on the side of the highway. The 26-year-old driver of the pickup was reportedly cited for failure to exercise due care.

The boy's mother and sister were not hurt, nor was the pickup truck driver. Sadly, the little boy suffered severe injuries and was airlifted by rescue personnel to a nearby hospital for treatment. Hopefully, the boy will recover fully, Though the attendant medical expenses will likely be substantial. In similar car and trucking accidents in Tennessee, experienced personal injury attorneys in the Clarksville area can provide insight and assistance regarding possible avenues for pursing just compensation to help with medical bills, pain and suffering and other legally recognized monetary damages within the civil justice system.
