Car accidents: 1 airlifted to hospital after recent crash

A woman reportedly suffered severe injuries in a recent collision involving a suspected drunk driver in Tennessee. Car accidents involving drunk drivers can be highly dangerous, and spotting such negligence in time to react can be nearly impossible at times. Those who suffer serious or permanent damage due to the actions of an impaired driver may be entitled to pursue restitution, but they might be uncertain where to turn for guidance in the process.

Authorities advised the accident took place at around 5:30 p.m. on a recent Saturday. Initial investigations suggest that the driver of a northbound car crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a nearby vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle reportedly suffered serious injuries in the crash, and she was airlifted to a hospital for medical treatment shortly thereafter.

Although many of the details surrounding the investigation remain unclear, the driver who caused the crash has reportedly been taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. Authorities have advised that he is currently facing charges for DUI and vehicular assault. However, even with the presence of criminal charges, pursuing accountability through the civil justice system can still be a complex process.

Car accidents caused by drunk drivers can have a devastating impact on the lives of everyone involved. Individuals who suffer serious harm due to another party's negligent actions may find it helpful to seek legal counsel for advice on the next steps to take. An experienced attorney can examine the incident thoroughly and assist a person in Tennessee in pursuing the restitution deserved through a personal injury claim.
